Happy Thanksgiving! Celebrate with Free Shipping on my Online Shop!

We will be having a quiet Thanksgiving here in the Michalak household.  Lots of food and probably some binge watching tv...and hand quilting and knitting for me.  We have both been working really hard and will take the day off and rest.  Well...if cooking is resting.  ;)

We had the Machine Maintenance Day
on Friday and Saturday and it was a huge success.  Thank you to Chris from Blakeman's for working so hard on the machines (we had 25, including a longarm!) and to Kara at Quilt Essentials for helping to advertise it.  I am starting to take names again for the next maintenance day so if you are interested in having your machine added, give me a call or email me.  307-745-3200  bobbinsnthreads@gmail.com

Oh...is anyone missing a 1/4 inch foot?  It looks like a Janome or Elna type and it was lying on the work table after Chris was finished.

And speaking of Quilt Essentials, this Saturday is Small Business Saturday and I will be demonstrating hand quilting and will also be taking part in a discussion about longarming.  Here is Kara's event flyer:

To celebrate Thanksgiving/Black Friday/Cyber Monday, I am offering Free Shipping on my online shop! Here is a clickable link:

It should automatically work for the free shipping but if not, put this code in the box at checkout:

If you have any problems, just holler!

After the Machine Maintenance Day, I cleaned up the Studio and dove into the customer quilts that have been coming in for Christmas.  I will be a busy, busy lady for the next several weeks!  Hopefully I can find time to finish presents for the family....

Catching up on customer quilt pictures...

And a bunch more to finish in the next few weeks!  LOL!

Anyhow, Happy Thanksgiving to you all!  Thank you so much for your continued support and friendship.  I truly have the best customers (and friends!) in the world.  :)

Warmly,
Jude

Happy Halloween! (and reminders....)

Looks like we will have nice weather for the little trick or treaters tonight!  We don't get many in our area but I will light the spooky house and have some little chocolate bars ready for those who do show up.  :)

Two reminders:
  1. This is the last day for 10% off on supplies on my online shop!                              Bobbins 'n Threads Online <---click here
  2.  And we almost have the 15 machines needed to have Chris from Blakeman's in Cheyenne come to the Studio for a Machine Maintenance Day.  It will be mid or end of November.  If you are interested, please contact me asap at 307-745-3200 or bobbinsnthreads@gmail.com with your name and number, email address and make of the machine and if you have any issues with your machine.

Some of you know that I have been working on a Sarah Fielke Block of the Month, Down the Rabbit Hole, for almost a year now.  And still 4 months behind.  ;)  Well...the 2018 Block of the Month is up for registration now.  Sarah is offering two projects this time and I am getting awfully tempted to do the one.  Someone stop me, please....

Or..someone want to join me?  LOL!

And...Bonnie Hunter's Mystery Quilt will be starting soon.  Not enough hours in the day.

Anyone doing it?

:o)

Preprinted Wholecloths are in the Studio!

Aside from big stitch quilting on double gauze fabric, my favorite thing to quilt is wholecloths.  Premarked wholecloths (I hate prep work).  I have added several to the online shop:

I have started this round Christmas wholecloth already!  Wonder if it will be finished by Christmas.  <ha!>

This is one that I did last year.  And fell in love with hand quilting wholecloths!

Here it is drying after soaking the marks out.

This pillow panel was used in my handquilting class last winter and I finally finished mine.

Here it is just before it is finished.  I used a combination of embroidery, hand quilting & big stitch quilting.

So..there is a range of wholecloths available, from simple to complex.  Take a look!  :)  And you don't have to hand quilt them...you can machine quilt them, embroider them, trapunto them...

And I just got an email from the supplier that two more designs have been added...guess I need to do some more shopping.  ;)

Till later!
Jude
