Happy Happy Holidays!

Well, it is the end of yet another year.  Wow, this one went by fast.

December was a really busy month with quilting and I hope to take this week off and just relax (ha!).  I never did get my Christmas projects finished and right now I don't want to look at another machine for awhile.  ;)  Oh well, there is always next year....

We are doing really well and enjoying the Christmas season.  The prime rib is purchased for Christmas dinner and I am going to make a cheesecake in my Instant Pot for dessert.  And maybe an apple pie....not in the Instant Pot.

Christmas Eve will be movies and cheese and crackers and fruit, etc.  Rudi got in his yearly cheese order...lots of amazing (and stinky!) cheeses that puts him in culinary heaven.  I eat some of the milder stuff.  The stinky cheese is in the fridge in the garage.  ;)

My online shop has been doing well and so has the eBay shop this year!  I have such a merchant soul and don't think I can ever stop selling.  After the new year I will be restocking the wholecloth kits, double gauze and stocking up my thread shelves.

Yes, it has been awhile.  And it has been a year of Hills and Valleys!  But I am healthy and happy and really busy.  For which I am very thankful.

I really must post more often and will work on that.

We have a new addition to our family...Rosie aka Monster Kitty.  We adopted her last December when she was five months old and she is a really dainty little kitty at 6lbs.  And she has health issues.  So far, six surgeries (and counting) and many vet visits.  But she is doing well today and we take it day to day.  She is a very loving, mischievous, sweet kitty and we love her to bits.  Big Dog Robbie tolerates her.  ;)

 We will be having a quiet Thanksgiving here in the Michalak household.  Lots of food and probably some binge watching tv...and hand quilting and knitting for me.  We have both been working really hard and will take the day off and rest.  Well...if cooking is resting.  ;)

We had the Machine Maintenance Day

After the Machine Maintenance Day, I cleaned up the Studio and dove into the customer quilts that have been coming in for Christmas.  I will be a busy, busy lady for the next several weeks!  Hopefully I can find time to finish presents for the family....

Machine Maintenance Day!

Just a quick post as a reminder to everyone who signed up for machine maintenance that the date is set for next Friday, November 17th.  The guys will be here at 9am so you can either bring your machines that morning or any time the days before...just make sure you call so that I know you are coming.  We have 21 machines on the list so it will be a busy day.  :)

The garage door will be open at 9am...just walk through and up the stairs...and holler that you are here.  ;)

The machines need to be tagged with your name and phone number, email address and if there is any problem that needs to be addressed.  They always call when it is finished or if there is an issue.

Machine Maintenance Day...and new HQ machine!

I finished a Holiday flannel quilt top at the retreat at Quilt Essentials a few days ago..we had so much fun!  If you ever get a chance to attend one, jump at it.  Looking forward to the next one.

Preprinted Wholecloths are in the Studio!

Aside from big stitch quilting on double gauze fabric, my favorite thing to quilt is wholecloths.  Premarked wholecloths (I hate prep work).  I have added several to the online shop:

I have started this round Christmas wholecloth already!  Wonder if it will be finished by Christmas.  <ha!>

This is one that I did last year.  And fell in love with hand quilting wholecloths!

Here it is drying after soaking the marks out.

This pillow panel was used in my handquilting class last winter and I finally finished mine.

Here it is just before it is finished.  I used a combination of embroidery, hand quilting & big stitch quilting.

So..there is a range of wholecloths available, from simple to complex.  Take a look!  :)  And you don't have to hand quilt them...you can machine quilt them, embroider them, trapunto them...

And I just got an email from the supplier that two more designs have been added...guess I need to do some more shopping.  ;)
