Lots of Quilting! And Giveaway Reminder!

Don't forget the Cherry Pit Giveaway!  I will have Rudi pick a number tomorrow afternoon and will contact the winner asap.  Still time to enter!  Just go to the Giveaway post (click here), scroll down to the bottom and type in a comment.  It has been so much fun doing this giveaway!  And some of the comments have been a hoot.  :)

The Fusion is up and running!  We still have some tweaking to do but I have been able to quilt some of the customer quilts this week and I am not behind because of the house disruptions.  Knock wood!  LOL!  We are starting to fill the container with our garage stuff tomorrow and it is going to be torture in this cold weather.  But it has to be done.  Construction on the addition will be starting soon.  :)

Here are some pictures of the quilts I have been doing this week and the one before.

1st quilt done on the new machine!  A charity baby quilt with baptist fan quilting.
Wonderful modern baby quilt!  Purple, white and gray.  Love it!

Soft and cozy yellow baby quilt.  Love the textures in this one!

Christmas Quilt!  The picture does not do it justice.
Back of the Christmas Quilt.  I love Minky.  :)

Pound Puppies Quilt...I LOVE this quilt!

Back of the Pound Puppies Quilt...the fabric is black but did not photograph very well.

Giveaway!

The view outside my patio door
It is COLD here in Laramie!  And snowy.  But it is nice and cozy here in the house and I finally feel like having Christmas music on.  Still working on customer quilts and my new machine is almost set up.  Rudi works on it every evening and it might be all together this evening.  (fingers crossed)

Day Two of setup
But I am excited for my new machine and look forward to finishing up the customer quilts on it.  For now I am using my Prodigy and it is working just fine.  I just got used to computerized quilting with my Avante and the Prodigy is not computerized so my body is not thanking me.  ;)  That and I have to move the couch out of the way so that I can quilt!  LOL!

HQ Fusion (24") with Pro Stitcher
It is too cold to start moving stuff from the garage into the container but we hope to get that done this weekend.  And then the construction will begin for the new Studio!  Since this is my first experience with construction, I am looking forward to the challenge.  But why do people look at me with pity and tell me to *be patient*???  Do they know something I don't?  I have full trust in our contractor and since I have patience by the boatload I do look forward to the experience.  And the end result will be my little piece of HEAVEN!  :)

REMIND ME OF THIS IF THINGS GET TOUGH  ;)

Cherry Pit Bags!

(I also make rice bags!)
We love our Cherry Pit Bags!  I make them in two sizes right now.  A square one at 9"x 9" and a neck bag at 7"x 18".  The sizes are approximate as I use quilting quality flannel fabric and it all depends on the width of the fabric.  They are filled  with Cherry Pits that I have sent to me from Michigan.

Cherry Pit Bags are lighter in weight than rice bags and they have a lovely, faint *cherry pie pastry* scent.  When I have a headache I cannot use my rice bags as the warm rice/grainy odor makes me sick to my stomach.  When I lived in Germany I discovered cherry pit bags.  And fell in love with them.  :)  Use them hot or cold!

And they are hand washable...another advantage...

The 7"x 18" neck bag  $20

The 9"x 9" bag  $18

The directions are on the cards included with each bag:
  • Microwave 1-3 minutes for soothing, moist heat. ***microwave times vary...don't overcook!
  • Place in a ziploc bag & put in the freezer for a cold pack.
  • Cherry Pits slowly release moist heat and stay warm or cold for a long period of time.
  • Hand Washable!
